Spec Sheets

Creating Your First Spec Sheet

Walk through creating a product spec sheet from scratch, including nutritional data and label claims.

Starting a New Spec

Go to Production → Spec Sheets and click New Spec Sheet. Enter the product name, product code, and product category to get started.

You can save your spec at any stage and return to it later — drafts are saved automatically.

Entering Nutritional Information

The Nutrition panel lets you enter per-100g and per-serve values for energy, protein, fat, carbohydrates, sugars, dietary fibre, and sodium — the mandatory FSANZ label nutrients.

If your product was formulated in Batchbase using linked raw materials, the nutrition panel can be populated automatically from your recipe. Otherwise, enter values manually from your laboratory analysis.

Adding Ingredients and Allergens

The Ingredients panel generates your FSANZ-compliant ingredient list. Add each ingredient in descending order of weight (by ingoing weight before cooking).

Allergens are detected automatically from linked raw materials. For manually entered ingredients, select the relevant allergens from the allergen picker. Batchbase formats the final allergen declaration to meet FSANZ Standard 1.2.3.

Reviewing and Publishing

Once all required fields are complete, the spec status changes from Draft to Ready. Click Publish to lock the spec and make it available for export.

Published specs can still be edited — a new version is created automatically, keeping a full revision history.
